Summer 2007

Summer is here and the boys have finished school till September...yippee! We are keeping busy and are counting down the weeks for Tim to come home. We talk to him often and send packages, cards and e-mails every day. We miss him very much but time is flying!

As for waiting for our little girl, the wait time is painful at times as it continues to increase due to the delay at the China Center of Adoption Affairs in Beijing. There is much speculation over the reason for this delay. China continues to allow only a set quota of orphans be adopted out of the country and, due to the success of the adoption program in China, the number of prospective adoptive families has increased dramatically. So, we remain in line behind all those families with log-in-dates prior to ours. At best, we should be matched this time next year....

Here are a few photos of our trip to see family in California. We had a blast!

Jack is 10!

Wow. I can hardly believe our first born is 10! Where have the years gone?
We celebrated by talking to Tim on the VTC (video-teleconference)on the carrier and also a party for his closest friends. What did they do? Play soccer, of course :-)

Mother's Day 2007

Jack, Liam and Sam brought me breakfast in bed which was so wonderful and such a surprise.
We then spent the afternoon at Bowman Bay having a barbecue with Nana and Poppa. It was a bit chilly to say the least!

A year since we began this journey!

4 months since LID
And a year since we began this journey!
March 22, 2007

Well, 4 months have passed since our dossier was logged in at the China Center of Adoption Affairs in Beijing. It is also a year (on Good Friday) since we first sent our initial application in to our adoption agency...and, 18 months since we made the life-changing decision to bring a little girl from China in to our family.

The wait time has increased over the last few months which is hard to take, but life is so busy and we truly believe we will be matched with the child who is destined to be our daughter...so we remain patient:-)

Oh where has the time gone? Below are a few photos of our celebration. We had a party for his school friends and a good time was had by all.

Tim's Change of Command

Tim became the Commanding Officer of his squadron on March 8th and we had a wonderful time celebrating this momentous occasion with beloved family and friends. He leaves shortly to take his squadron for 6 months on the carrier in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Happy New Year 2007

Well, it's been a while since I wrote anything. Not much to report. Still waiting but getting on with life.
Took the boys to Victoria, British Columbia in Canada for a long weekend over New Years'. Had a wonderful time together.
