We have PA (pre-approval) at last!!

AFTER 3 LONG YEARS, FINALLY...Ruby is here

We are thrilled and humbled to announce the referral of our precious daughter, Dang Qing Xue who was born on October, 16th 2007 in the ancient city of Luoyang, Henan province, China. She is almost 19 months old and currently resides with a foster family affiliated with the amazing New Day Foster Care Home in Beijing http://www.newdaycreations.com/foster/ (see posts below). We are so thankful she is with this Christian organization who is taking such great care of her and many other orphans with special needs who need a loving family. Thanks to the heart surgery Ruby received in Beijing, she will lead a normal, healthy life. We are thankful for everyone at New Day and the doctors who work with them.

She will be called Ruby Grace QingXue. Qing (pronounced ching) and Xue (pronounced shoe-way) means "green snow" in Mandarin which has much significance to us. We got the call from our agency on my cell phone as we were hiking. Tim and I had just been marveling at how the unusually heavy snowfall over the weekend had melted away to leave everything so incredibly green!
If you live in the Colorado Rockies, you'll know what I mean. It gets very brown over the winter months because it is so dry.

So, here we are, at long last a family of six! We just need to get to China now and bring her home to her forever family! The boys are thrilled beyond measure and we hope to leave at the end of June/beginning of July for the 2 week trip to bring her home.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. " Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

One step closer! And I'm excited to see that Lydia and Ruby are only a month apart. Maybe we can get a regular day for tea and babies?! What an answer to prayer to see how lovingly she's been cared for at NDFH!

Oh my goodness Sarah!!! I don't know if you remember me, but we emailed each other a number of time 3 years ago when we were all starting this process. I had emailed you a few times but since had lost your email address and no longer had your you belong blog info. I "know" Melinda Petersen, who just got a referral and saw that you posted a note on her blog and thought... "hey, I know her!"... anyways, Congratulations on your daughter!!! When do you think you'll travel to get her? We are going to be in Oak Harbor and the Seattle area the end of July... if things work out, I'd love to be able to meet you and hopefully Ruby... I don't know if you knew, but we adopted a little girl from Taiwan... she was a waiting child, but ended up not having anything wrong with her when we got her... would love to email you with more details sometime...Congratulations, again!!!

I love the green snow thread and YES, I know exactly how you were feeling when that snow gave way to sunshine and green grass!!

What a beauty!! Many congratulations on PA for your new daughter :)
My sister's son (Cole) was from NDFH and he transitioned incredibly well into his new family. What a wonderful blessing your daughter is being cared for there!
