Come on England!

June 7, 2006

Today I heard from Mum and Dad that a copy of our marriage certificate finally arrived at their house!!
Now my parents will take it to London to be legalised at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. I am very thankful that they are doing it. It would have taken 9 weeks to do it by mail...
We are also waiting for our Police Clearance Reports from our 2 years living in London. They should be here in the next 30 days.

When we have gathered all of the above and have completed our Home Study (to be done in July) and received our I-171-H (permission to adopt an orphan from immigration),we have to send all the British documents to the British Embassy to be certified and then the Chinese Consulate in Washington D.C. to be authenticated.
The other 'Washington State' documents will go to Olympia, Washington to be certified and then the Chinese Consulate in San Franscisco to be authenticated. Confused? You should be. We are!!!

When all the notarizing, certifying and authenticating is complete,we send the completed dossier to our agency. The paperchase will be over and the wait 'proper' will begin!
